"Whoa-oh, we're halfway there,...Whoa-oh,....Livin' on a Prayer!"
The words to this Bon Jovi song have been going through my head all week.
So appropriate too, considering we're halfway through the year at week 26 with the Focus on Life: 52 Photos weekly photo challenge with Sally over at The Studio Sublime!
Wow,...times flies, eh?!
For week 26 of the Focusing on Life: 52 Photos challenge, Sally's prompt was this:
Your Choice! This week you get to choose. Pick your own prompt!
Wow,...the possibilities truly are endless with this one, are they not?
I chose to snap a pic of my son next to this metal statue in this little town not too far from my sis's cabin.
Despite the fact that the "Masked Rider" (pictured here with out his helmet) pretty much hates having his picture taken, he thought this statue was really cool - considering the subject matter.
He said, "That's how I feel when I'm on my bike, Mom. Riding fast, hair on fire, having the time of my life! This is exactly how it is!"
"What?!! You ride 'hair on fire' fast?"
"Yep, I sure do!"
"With your helmet on, right?'
"Of course. I'm not stupid!"
"How do you know your hair's on fire?"
"Trust me!"
(!!!!!!! - insert 'Mom Stress' here - !!!!!!!)
So, on the eve of my 'Baby's' 16th birthday, I thought this was the appropriate photo to post this week.
Here's to you sweet boy!
I hope you have a Fantastic, 'Hair on Fire' kind of Birthday!!
Now it's time to hop on over to the Studio Sublime and see what every one else captured with their prompt of ????? Your Choice!
Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Sweet 16!!
Cheers,
~Shel~
Ha ha, a wonderful post, that statue is very cool!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your boy
I get the Mom stress of that Shel! My boys have bikes and sometimes they get to talking and I have to say 'Stop. I can't hear this'. BUT last weekend I was a passenger on my son's bike for a fundraising ride and I also get what your son is saying. That is a great photo and that statue is awesome.

Oh my goodness, there are some things it's better for mum's not to know!!! That statue is so cool - I love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Shel. Boys can be trying. I remember hearing about my son having the car in the air on seven hills road.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, what a great post! LOVE the sculpture, the photo with its "tude", and the sentiment. We should all have at least one "hair on fire" day in our lives.
ReplyDeleteFabulous statue and your son is so handsome. Hope he has a wonderful birthday.
ReplyDeleteTeenagers'll get you every time, right?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son
I always have a Bon Jovi song in my head!! That is such a cool statue and I can see why your son likes it, but there are some things a mom is better off not knowing!
ReplyDeleteI hope he had a perfect birthday!
That is a pretty darn cool sculpture! Your handsome son sounds like he's got the brains... to go with his hunky looks. Look out Mom... : )
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son ... that leaves only 2 * 365 days until he thinks he's moving out... once he figures out what that actually costs he'll be back home! Love the statue!
ReplyDeleteLove your photo and the feeling it portrays.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture, Shel! And happy birthday to your son. They grow up way too fast.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! I enjoyed reading your post, especially the hair on fire part. Boys will do wild things and mothers will worry. It's the way of life. Happy Birthday to your son.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Oh to be 16 huh? Great pose in front of such an awesome sculpture and all that it says. Speed and boys go together don't they?
ReplyDeleteOh Shel! I see you have one of those "hair pulling" teens in you house too! I have always said kids come out of SO MANY different molds, but they are all the same. Trust me it gets better, eventually.
ReplyDeleteTotally can relate to the mom stress!
