"Macro Shots - How Close Can You Get?"
I LOVE me some Macro!
Taken w/my Canon. I had to hold the flower still because it was windy! |
Canon Powershot XS 160 that I just got as I can
with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH5 camera.
with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH5 camera.
I've had 3 Lumix and I love them!
The one I use most has 'macro zoom'.
(translation: super-duper macro!)
This one was taken w/my Lumix. Click to enlarge any of the pics. |
The Canon's got a feature that lets you'zoom' while doing video. I know, so does an actual video camera, but a still shot camera seemed more up my alley so I decided to try it.
I'll let you know what I think after I use it a bit.
So far I'm rather pleased with the still shots.
Of course, if I'd ever save up the $$ for a 'big daddy camera' (the kind where the lens costs more than the camera itself), I'm sure my pics could be even better. And closer!

Spring has Sprung! Captured with the Canon. |
But until then, here's some "Macro Love" for you!

Off Center because of the wind - but still rather close w/the Lumix. |

Peace, Love and Getting Up Close!

Wow, what gorgeous photos. So much amazing color and texture!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alice!
DeleteShel your macro pics show each awesome detail. Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becky!
DeleteBeautiful shots of the buds and bugs
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow bug (of course, its that gorgeous color!) and the last one...what flower is it?
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you will create a storm in the photography world if you ever get that big ass camera!
LOL! That last one, Kasha, is the inside of one of our roses that the hubs picked off the rose bush just before it completely wilted and died,...they're wild inside, aren't they?!
DeleteI can't choose! Love them all. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which camera I like best yet either!
DeleteThose are great photos. I love the lady bug. The kiddo loves lady bugs and they always make me think of her. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tanya
DeleteFantastic shots - all of them. I am in the market for a new camera as I have an older Canon Powershot. Really like the Lumix Picts you took though. Let us know your decision. I love macro shots of flowers!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, I'm still not sure which camera I like best either. The canon really focuses in on the subject and I get great blurred effects in the background, but with the lumix is so much closer/clearer and I can get more up-close details.
DeleteThe lady bug is fantastic looking! Very excellent shot indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sydny
DeleteBeautiful, awesome shots Shel!! No one would know you didn't use a 'big daddy camera'!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow - that's some pictures! I love all of them: the details on each flower or that beautiful ladybug are stunning. Can't pick one :)
ReplyDeleteGreat close-ups! I have a Canon Power Shot as well and wondered if a Lumix would be better for macro shots...so it's great to read about your impressions!
ReplyDeleteI go back and forth with my Canon and Lumix too...wonderful photos...the one with the delicate stamens looks like a sea creature...wow!
